Another wingsuit video

This is actually the video I was intending to display some time ago:

"We were getting bored so now we fly close to things" that's the gist of the speaking here.

Using Slideshare.net

Using Slideshare.net to view a presentation:

Beautiful Photos

As I wrote the last entry I was wondering how I could make a presentation visible without requiring anyone to login to a service and I remembered Slideshare.net. You can upload a presentation logged in or not and make it visible to everyone or just selected e-mail addresses (as with Google Docs) but if you let everyone see it they can see it right away.

If you click on the screen icon, second from the bottom right above it will display full screen. (If you have flash installed in your browser.)
View SlideShare presentation or Upload your own. (tags: incredible photos).

Some Beautiful Photos

This group of pictures came to me as a presentation that I uploaded to Google Docs. So here I will kill two birds with one stone and show off some great photos and the workings of Google Docs. You can go through the pictures just using the arrows in this display, or if you have a Google Docs account you can click on the little rectangle in the center bottom of the display to open a new window and log into Google Docs and view the presentation photos full screen.

There will be a chat window on the right of that screen so others viewing at the same time can chat with each other and one person can be a "Presenter" and lead other viewers through the slides.

It's a great service particularly considering the cost. (FREE!)

From Words for Hire

5 Great Blogs You May Not Be Reading | Words For Hire
One of the best things about the internet is the never ending stream of great reading material. It is a virtual bookstore that restocks its shelves on a minute by minute basis.
My feelings exactly!

The whole point of having the web, for me, is the ability to tap the creativity of the world and build on my own.

Have a look at the Blogs suggested from the link above and see if you don't agree...

Google Flu Trends

Google Flu Trends

Among all the ridiculous uses or the Internet there are a few gems. Things that could be done as well and as cheaply no where else.

Google Flu Trends is a Google Trends page for searches related to the Flu tracked over time. As people get the Flu and search for information about it Google tracks those searches and can plot them against past years of the same search and by geographical region of the computer IP addresses doing the search. This makes a *real time* chart of Flu progress.

Have you gotten a Flu shot yet or are you gambling?

What *WOULD* Christ do?

The Mercury - Amish forgiveness offers a powerful lesson for us all

This news story about the Amish in Pennsylvania who suffered the terrible loss of their children to a madman gives me pause. Why do any of us do the good things we do? Are we occasionally able to feel the Christ within us enough to suffer the pain required to forgive? In this stories case the shooter is dead now and his family is a victim same ast
