PicniK.com

PicniK.com

Another example of the web getting *way* ahead of me.

While surfing photo sites and editing tools I came across this site and it's GREAT!

True Web 2.0 this is a website that will let you edit photos on your hard drive, from your Flickr, Picasa, or Facebook site or anything you see on the web. The site is Adobe flash (a free plugin if you don't have it installed already) and can expand to fullscreen so you don't have to work on a photo in just your browser sized window. It has the usual crop, color, etc. tools and also has special effects you can add.

If you have some photo editing to do and you are on a high speed Internet connection I really recommend trying this one.

Google copies StumbleUpon

Your Search History Does the Magic

I just learned about this and have only started to use it. If you know about StumbleUpon.com
then you may find Google's foray into showing interesting websites something to try.

I think web surfing broadens the mind particularly the way StumbleUpon helps you. You wind up on sites you might never find any other way, interesting sites, sites suggested by other folks like you or unlike you as you choose.

Busy Flickr Blogging Bees

2007-01-30.jpg, originally uploaded by motorbelly.

I love it! I can't keep up!

Things I imagine should exist before I think them up. I guess this is what growing old is about. (VBG)

Two new things I discovered today, first is a small add-in for Picasa2, the photo handling software free from Google that I have liked but not used a lot can now move your photos not only to Picasa's online storage but you can send them to Flickr too.

Flickr (now part of Yahoo) is the more web friendly photo site in my opinion. And *NOW* while viewing my photos I used Picasa to upload I can directly connect to my blogs and post the images to those blogs, I'm doing it this second.

All of this means web publishing is as easy as writing e-mails but a lot prettier.

Let me recommend you try:
http://picasa.com
http://www.flickr.com
http://picasa2flickr.sourceforge.net/
http://www.blogger.com and/or
http://www.wordpress.com

All the services are free with advanced features available for fees.

Gadget Lab - Wired News

Gadget Lab - Wired News

There doesn't seem to be much innovation on aviation in this country anymore, is it all the lawsuits? But here are two grand dads in their 70's building an old dream, a flying car.

How cool is this?

Tagmaps

TagMaps - World Explorer

Here is something new and fun from Yahoo.

Tagmaps combines the Yahoo map with Flikr photos so that as you look at the map you find tags for the ares on the map and by holding your mouse over those tags images from the area appear in a window to the right. Then you can look more closely at those pictures by clicking them and look at the photo collections of the photographers.

It's pretty neat!
